Smart Modular Bioreactor Prototype

The paper presents the design and implementation of a prototype for a modular bioreactor (named "Smart Modular Bioreactor" - SMB) intended to be flexible and scalable in order to cover several of the specificities of the bioreactors on the field and to be useful for different types of cultures such as bacteria, fungi, algae, and animal or human cells. There are presented and discussed: the conceptual diagrams of the SMB and its component parts, the hardware, mechanics, firmware, Graphical User Interface, the final prototype and the technical characteristics.
