The Radiation characteristics of UWB Printed Dipole Antenna with an Additional Connection Between the Radiators

The paper presents the results of a study of the radiation characteristics of the ultra-wideband printed dipole antenna with an additional connection between the radiators. It is shown that the use of the additional connection leads to a decrease in the VSWR at large scanning angles and an extension of the operating frequency range. The developed antenna has the VSWR $\le$ 2 in the frequency range from 1.32 to 2.93 GHz and at scanning angles up to ± 45°. The antenna without the additional connection at scanning angles up to ± 45° had the VSWR $\le$2 in the frequency range of 1.38-2.2 and 2.44-2.87 GHz (the VSWR is less than 2.1 in the frequency range of 2.20--2.44 GHz).
