Discussion about the Effect of Permanent Magnet Segmentation on Its Temperature Rising

This paper analyzed the distribution of permanent magnet (PM) eddy current loss by theoretical method firstly. When the distribution of PM eddy current loss is accounted for thermal field calculation, it shows good agreement between the calculation result and test. Further, different segmentation methods in axial direction are analyzed which reveals some useful phenomenons that can guide PM temperature rising reducing when use PM axial direction segmentation methods.
