Research on Transmission Line Fault Location Based on Subdomain Precise Integration Method

The fault location of transmission lines has always been the focus of power system research. As the traditional precision integration fault location algorithm increases with the increase of sampling frequency, the dimension of the matrix will increase dramatically, the computational load also increases sharply, which greatly reduces the computational efficiency. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes a fault location algorithm based on subdomain precise integration method. The voltages and currents at both ends of the transmission line are divided into m subdomains in the time domain. In each subdomain, The matrix dimension of the differential equations of the transmission line is very small and the number of floating-point operations is very low, so the solution time of differential equations will be reduced and the computational efficiency also will be improved. This paper builds a single-loop model and verifies the reliability, efficiency, and accuracy of the algorithm for single-phase ground faults. all of these provide a theoretical basis for the promotion of the subdomain precision integration method in fault location of transmission lines.
