Analysis of Failover Link System Performance in OSPF, EIGRP, RIPV2 Routing Protocol with BGP

of the internet network connection to be stable and there is no interference. Generally, an internet provider has two or more links to maintain if the main network or primary link is interrupted, and one of them is used as a backup link, one way to overcome this problem is by implementing a failover link system. This research was conducted to analyze the performance of system failover links with a combination of internal and external routing protocols, different AS Number in a network topology using GNS3. The parameters used for testing in this study are throughput, jitter, packet loss, and delay. Similar research was conducted by Darmawan and Teguh with the title, Analysis Link Balancing and Failover of 2 Providers using BGP on Cisco Routers 7606s discussing the performance of failover and link balancing systems using 2 providers with share count traffic parameters, throughput, delay, and latency. The results of this study indicate that the best routing protocol combination is Scenario 1 with OSPF being used as the main network having better parameter values. The biggest throughput value is 310.59 Kbits/s in the primary link. The smallest jitter value is 18.4 ms found in the primary link, while the backup link is 19.16 ms. The smallest packet loss value is 26% found in the primary link, while the backup link is 27.06%. Then the value of the response time failover is 7.23 seconds.
