Jingshu Keli in Treatment of Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy (CSR): A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

To review the curative effects and safety of Jingshu Keli on Cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. Methods: A systematic literature search of electronic databases (PubMed, Embase, CENTRAL and Chinese database) was conducted for randomized controlled trials comparing Jingshu Keli with other treatments in CSR patients. Literature collected in this paper was published up to May 2019, and random effects meta-analyses were performed by RevMen 5.3 software. Result: There were 17 RCT enclosed. Results showed that: 1 The total effect in treatment groups were better than blank control groups [OR=4.03, 95%CI(1.27, 12.84)]. Compared with other drugs and physical therapy treatments, the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy has no advantage[OR=0.54, 95%CI(0.29, 1.00)], [OR=0.33, 95%CI(0.16, 0.67)]. 2 The VAS scores in treatment groups were better than in blank control groups [MD=0.96, 95%CI(0.74,1.17)], compared with other drugs groups, the efficacy was comparable [MD=0.14, 95%ci (-0.09,0.37)], and there was no advantage compared with physiotherapy groups[MD=-0.70, 95%CI(-1.03,-0.37)]. 3 There was no statistically significant difference between two groups of the incidence of adverse reactions[OR=1.01, 95%CI(0.43,2.41)]. Conclusion: Jingshu Keli is effective in treating cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.
