Ultra-wideband Reflectionless Tapered Slotline Antenna with Resistive Absorption Structure

In this paper, an ultra-wideband reflectionless tapered slotline antenna with resistive absorption structure is proposed. The resistive absorption structure, composed of inductance and resistance, absorbs the low frequency components which cannot be radiated by the antenna. Meanwhile, the influence of absorption structure on the high frequency components is minimized, so that the high frequency components can flow into the Gaussian tapered slotline antenna as unaffected as possible. The return loss of the proposed reflectionless antenna is greater than 10 dB in most frequencies from DC-10 GHz, and the antenna has good endfire characteristics in the bandwidth of 2-10 GHz. Reflectionless antenna provides a realizable idea for expanding the bandwidth of UWB pulse antenna and can be employed in endfire application scenarios.
