High Efficiency and Wideband True-Time-Delay Transmitarray Antenna Based on Coding Metasurface

In this work, we present a high aperture efficiency wideband True-Time-Delay transmitarray antenna based on coding metasurface. For wideband aperture coupling antenna, the True-Time-Delay(TTD) compensation method can obtain better performance than the phase compensation method, including gain, aperture efficiency and side lobe, etc. In this work, ten time-delay units with discrete time-delay values are designed based on coding metasurface. Simulation results show that the transmission array antenna has 41.3% 3-dB gain bandwidth (25 GHz~38 GHz), and the aperture efficiency is higher than 40% at 23 GHz~37 GHz.
