Metasurface lens for generating independent tri-foci with different polarizations

We propose a novel reflective metasurface lens (or meta-lens) combining geometric phase and propagation phase to realize a multifunctional electromagnetic (EM) device. The proposed meta-lens can generate distinct focal spots of different polarizations under the linear polarized incidence. In order to verily the concept, we have integrated three foci of different polarizations with distinct focal positions into a single meta-lens. We have fabricated the meta-lens and good agreements are observed between the measurement and simulation, and they are both consistent with theoretical prediction. This method could pave a new way to design multi-functional devices for generating diverse wavefronts with different polarizations.
