Design of Transmitter for 5G Channel Emulator

This thesis focuses on the development of millimeter wave transmitter module for wideband channel emulator application. The millimeter wave channel emulator transmitter which integrates RF front-end, IF module and baseband processing module is designed with channel bandwidth of 500MHz and output power of -80~0dBm. Due to the wide frequency band of the RF output, the RF front-end module adopts segmentation scheme, which is divided into 18-26 GHz and 26-40 GHz for mixing, amplifying and filtering. Based on the simulation and design, a prototype is developed. The test results show that the RF transmitter module has satisfactory performance and meets the design requirements.
