A Reconfigurable Graphene-Based Yagi Antenna

As a new two-dimensional material, graphene has been applied in various devices due to its unique electrical and optical properties. In this work, a reconfigurable Yagi antenna by using graphene's tunable conductivity is proposed. The Yagi antenna consists of one feed element and four elements which are located on either side of the feed element symmetrically. Simulated results indicate that the proposed structure achieves a good performance. Antenna works at two modes which can be tuned by changing the chemical potential of graphene. The S11, gain and efficiency are -13.47 dB, 7.56 dB and 70% while the antenna works at 2.5 GHz. It can be expected that this proposed antenna possesses potential for beam scanning in microwave devices and systems.
