Eight-Element Linear Magneto-Electric Dipole Antenna Array with Butler Matrix Feed Network for 5G Applications

An eight-element linear magneto-Electric dipole antenna array with Butler matrix feed network is presented for 5G Applications. The antenna arrays along with 8×8 Butler matrix as a beamforming network to obtain eight steerable beams, operating at 24.75-27.5GHz. Simulated results show that antenna array achieves a maximum gain of 14 dBi, and the eight beams cover the required 120° azimuth angle, of which the gains are greater than 9dBi.
