Optimization in NH3 gas response of WO3 nanorods based sensor array

The gas response optimization for ammonia gas using hydrothermally synthesized WO3 nanorods based gas sensor array with interdigitated chromium electrode have been studied. Device properties such as structural, morphological, optical, and electrical were analyzed and reported. A correlation between stability and performance of the device with electrical properties has been established. Arrays have been formed by using series and parallel configuration of two identical gas sensing device. Comparative study have been done among the single sensor and with sensor array configurations and have been found that parallel array configuration shows excellent selectivity and sensitivity towards ammonia detection, even at low gas concentration. At 250 , it depicts the optimum sensing response 4.64 with 24/32 response/recovery time for 5 PPM NH3 gas concentration. The sensor has been tested for different period/interval of time and found that the proposed nanocomposite has excellent stability and reproducibility thus can be utilized for various gas sensing applications.
