Effects of Chilli Dryer by using Heat Energy from Solar

Chilli is a vegetable that important in the daily cooking of Thai people in groups who like to eat spicy food. Thai people prefer to produce Chilli for household consumption and grow Chilli for commercial use as flavoring products. The problem of Chilli cultivation is that during the rainy season that a lot of excess demand. Farmers produce drying process to store dried Chilli for a long time and processed into seasoning. The purpose of this paper is to design and build a dryer for heat transfer, dehumidification and drying. The experimental process is a comparison between Open sunlight drying and Chilli dryer. Experimental design in the temperature range of 50°C, 55°C and 60°C, within 18 hours in all experimental groups and recording the temperature inside and outside the oven every 1 hour. The experiment results show that the propose method can improve performance of temperature inside the oven can heat 2 times of the outside temperature. Drying at a temperature of 55°C is the best quality temperature than other groups of red Chilli at the level of 14.38 and the moisture content is 22.3% of dried Chilli.
