Determination of the Sensitivity for Ultrasonic Sensor by Comparison Method

This paper proposes a measurement method to determine the sensitivity of ultrasonic sensor both needle hydrophones (Sn 2083, Sn 2054 and Sn 2061) and HUS-5 sonic monitor probes by comparison method, which is the sensitivity of the reference sensor. The result shows the sensitivity of the unit under test sensor at the frequency range setting of 1 MHz to 15 MHz for needle hydrophone and of 0.1 MHz to 5 MHz for the HUS-5 sonic monitor probes. The calibrated ultrasonic sensor that knows the sensitivity can be used to determine the performance of the ultrasonic products such as the reactor vessel. The ultrasonic vessel is characterized by an aluminum foil erosion test and the sonic monitor sensor measurement to indicate the ultrasonic locations and the ultrasonic intensity occurring in the ultrasonic vessel. Both approaches have the potential to identify the ultrasonic intensity locations within the reactor vessel.
