Combined Detection and Error Correction Algorithm for Noncoherent Chaos Shift Keying System

This article proposes an efficient error-correction technique anchored to the Euclidean separation between the chaotic sequences for noncoherent chaos communication with no redundancy bits. The system applies the modified logistic map to create two sequences for each data bit value in a manner that the second value of the present chaotic sequence sets the first value of the next sequence of the similar symbol. For the purpose of error correction, the next chaotic sequences with similar chaotic potentials are generated with this arrangement. The recognition sign is done prior to the correction depending on the suboptimal receiver which is based on the computation of the straight distance between the chaotic trajectory and the received sequence of the modified logistic map. The simulation results proved that the system provides an improvement in Eb/NO compared to the technique without error-correcting method. This enhancement is magnified with the increase in the number of bits 1.3 dB gain is attained in Eb/No at bit error probability of 10

compared to the scheme without the error-correcting plan when the length of chaotic sequence per bit is 8. This makes the system a good option for applications that necessitate high data transmission speeds.
