Museum Quality Management : from the perspective of participation ecology

Nowadays, some museums adopt the user-centered design approach which entails focusing on audience, identifying a need through visitor research. But still many museums fail to do so. By interviewing on-the-spot in museums and visitor-oriented questionnaire survey, this research focus on the basic food and beverage demand of visitors inside museums, and a series of problems are revealed and discussed. To enhance the visitor experience, it is suggested from the perspective of participation ecology, value co-creation and open innovation in the museum context, the museums should employ more theme-designed restaurants, carry out more entertainment and activities, increase the quality and quantity of food choices etc.
