A Study of FMEA Approach Implementation to Wet Scrubber Management in High Tech Factory

The Best Available Control Technology (BACT) is one of the pollution control methods for a wet scrubber equipment. It has commonly used for scrubbing the acidic and alkaline exhaust pollutants. This study applied the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) operating mode to analyze the wet scrubbers of high-tech factory. The results show that there are still rooms for improvement in the various components of the wet scrubber, such as blower fan, circulating water pumps, pH sensors, nozzles and dosing machines. In terms of Risk Priority Numbers (RPN), improvements are made. There will be a significant reduction in points, which means that improvements in FMEA analysis will increase the availability of equipment.
