A Study on Sustainable Management of Taiwan Shoushan National Nature Park from the Perspective of Recreation impact Cognition

Due to the increasing number of people taking outdoor activities, natural resources in the National Nature Park have been subjected to human interference or destruction, which are impacts on the natural environment. In this study, a conflict analysis was conducted through a survey of resource distribution and recreational activities in Shoushan National Nature Park and Taiwan, and a questionnaire survey was carried out to investigate their recognition of the recreational behaviors and the control methods with recreationalists engaged in different types of recreational activities. The results show that recreationists had higher recognition of the recreational activity of “mountain hiking “, and lower recognition of “ca ve exploration” and “mountain biking”. On the control methods, the respondents had the highest recognition of “maintaining the present situation” and lowest recognition of “ adopting the permission application system in some areas”. Therefore, based on the public recognition, the promulgation of park management strategies in the future should be oriented to enhance the ecological interpretation energy, specifying prohibition s and developing the recreational zoning management mechanism.
