Influence of Motorized Spindle Vibration Caused by Rotor Imbalance on Grinding Accuracy

Crankshaft and camshaft are the key parts of automobile industry, which require higher machining efficiency, precision and quality. In the process of machining crankshaft and camshaft, the grinding method is used to obtain higher dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Camshaft and crankshaft grinding belong to non-circular grinding. The key of grinding technology is precision grinding machine, and the core part of precision grinding machine is motorized spindle system. However, vibration in grinding process has obvious harm to the machining accuracy and surface quality of workpiece. In order to study the influence of motorized spindle vibration on grinding process, the unbalanced dynamic model of motorized spindle rotor and the analysis method of motorized spindle rotation error are established in this paper. Comprehensive vibration testing platform for motorized spindle is built to test the influence of rotor imbalance on motorized spindle vibration. Finally, machining experiments on crankshaft grinder are carried out to verify the influence of motorized spindle vibration on grinding accuracy.
