New Key Performance Indicators (KPI) For Substation Maintenance Performance

Utilities are focused towards the economic operation of substations for meeting the organizational goals. Accordingly, substations take various measures for minimizing the operational cost. Operational cost mainly depends on the strategies and policies adopted for the maintenance management. Substation maintenance performance will depend on the maintenance practices followed from time to time. In order to improve the maintenance performance, it is required to modulate the various parameters of the maintenance process. Hence, continuous monitoring of maintenance performance using appropriate key performance indices which are focused towards the maintenance actions is very essential. In this paper a new set of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are defined to monitor the maintenance performance with a focus on triggering corrective actions.
