Mining the Influential Factors of Passing CET-4 by Decision Tree Method

For the reasons of higher time cost, it is very important to take strategies to direct the full-time college students succeed to pass CET-4 after its influential factors found. The paper collected the course score data of full-time college students in four departments of a selected Chinese university, and then analyzed the data by decision tree method. The experimental results illustrated that the most influential factor of passing CET-4 is the student's learning performance in college English course, and the followed are the student's learning performance in his/her graduation project course and mathematics courses. Required major basic courses are also found related to the passing of CET-4, while fundamental and compulsory courses are found little related to the passing of CET-4.
