Optimization of the Composition of the Fuel Mixture of Industrial Thermal Power Plants

The article considers an approach that allows determining the optimal composition of the fuel mixture necessary for the generation of thermal and electric energy in industrial thermal power plants. The algorithm for optimizing the composition of the fuel mixture is based on the direct enumeration method. Constraints on the technological components of boiler units are taken into account. As initial data, mode maps of boilers are used, which impose operational restrictions on the objective function. In addition, when developing the algorithm, restrictions on the volume of energy carriers used are taken into account, since the share of energy resources is constantly changing at existing enterprises. The developed algorithm is implemented in the original software product KATRAN-OptHeatPower. The article gives an example of calculating the economically feasible composition of the fuel mixture by the example of a boiler of a thermal power plant operating on a mixture of blast furnace and natural gas. The results of the work can be used as a workplace in control centers for planning energy consumption and assessing the cost of electricity and heat.
