Development of an Autonomous Wind Power System

The installation of a small wind energy generated power are very desirable for small farms. The parameters and operating modes of such wind turbines are related to the nature of the production processes of a particular farm. In the article the autonomous wind power system (AWPS) of power supply of sheep-breeding economy for 1000 sheep is considered. Modern methods of producing ecological meat lamb, or high-quality wool include free range with rich grass area on pastures for sheep. In such cases, the sheeps graze is long away from the power lines. For power supply to remote sheep farms required stand-alone wind energy supply system, which reserves energy for the production processes. Functional diagram and parameters of the autonomous power supply systems to remote sheep farms are grounded in the calculations of this article. Also, in the article the technique of calculation, which mathematically connects the aerodynamic parameters of the windturbine with the necessary power of the electric generator to charge a specific battery capacity. In this article including a new design of a synchronous generator with ferromagnetic elements for wind power supply system. Thanks to the new design of the synchronous machine, the functional scheme of power supply is simplified, and the electrical characteristics are improved, which makes this system different from the rest. The main innovation of the generator design are ferromagnetic inserts and additional magnetic poles. The particular configuration of ferromagnetic elements redistributes the magnetic flux from the magnets into the generator coils. This increases the power generated current synchronous generator and its generated power. The use of a synchronous generator with ferromagnetic inserts has advantages in operation and is recommended for implementation in various autonomous power supply systems using wind and water energy.
