Heating of Current Conducting Aluminum Wire

In order to verify the results of the coupled electrical and thermal problem calculations - heating of a conductor with the current inside, the temperature of the conductor's surface was measured under four different conditions, supplying the wire from AC and DC constant voltage or constant current generator. The results differ significantly and as such are presented and discussed in this paper. Some unexpected electro-chemical reactions occurred during the measurements, notably disturbing the measurement's accuracy. The problem is analyzed and solved successfully, which is also presented in the paper. All the results of aluminum wire heating are shown graphically as the time diagrams of the temperature; all comparisons of four different supplying conditions are presented graphically as well.
