A Simplified Current Detection Method with Multipulse Injection and Sampling Hold for Five-Phase Switched Reluctance Motor Drives

This paper proposes a phase currents detection method using single current sensor to obtain phase currents for current control in five-phase switched reluctance machines (SRMs). By injecting five phase-shift pulses and sampling the dc-link current, the phase currents under multi-phase overlapping condition can be calculated. This method significantly reduces the cost of the current detection system. Simulation is carried out to verify the proposed method.
