Research on Projectile Velocity of Electromagnetic Launcher Based on Speed Measurement System

In electromagnetic launching, the launching speed, as a key index of the system, is of great significance. In this paper, the method of B-dot magnetic probe array is used to measure the velocity of projectile in-bore. A non-contact measurement method of the velocity outside-bore of projectile based on high-speed video system and digital image post-processing technology is proposed. The velocity of projectile is measured experimentally and the velocity curve of projectile is obtained. From the measured results, in the electromagnetic launching processing, by using inert projectile, the velocity of the projectile enters the attenuation stage randomly after its ejection, and there is no acceleration stage like that of the traditional gun.
