Segmented Multi-mode Modulation Algorithm Based on Synchronized SVPWM for Rail Transit Traction Motor

On the base of optimizing the problem of current and voltage harmonic distortion in traditional asynchronous space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) at low carrier ratios, a segmented multi-mode modulation method based on synchronous SVPWM strategy is proposed in this paper which is more suitable for high-power traction systems under low switching frequency. This method can effectively improve the voltage and current harmonic characteristics of the traction motor in the mid-high speed operation range, and enhance the output performance of the traction system. Simulation and experimental results verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the strategy.
