A Dual-plane SVPWM Strategy for Dual Three-phase PMSM

A dual-plane SVPWM strategy for dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (DT-PMSM) is proposed in this paper. Based on the vector space decoupling (VSD) model, virtual vectors are constructed on the α-β and z

planes by the vector synthesis respectively. The amplitudes of constructed virtual vectors are zero in the other plane, so the independent control of the reference voltage vectors of the α-β and z
₁
-z
₂
planes can be achieved by the virtual vectors, i.e., the dual-plane four-dimensional current vector control of the DT-PMSM can be realized. Compared with the traditional single-plane SVPWM strategy, the proposed dual-plane SVPWM strategy can reduce the harmonic current significantly. The experimental results verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the control strategy.
