Research on the Control Strategy Based on Peak-Prediction for the Pulse power supply

The capacitive Pulse power supply is widely utilized in the electromagnetic launch system. And the ideal launcher current is in the square-shape. To solve the problem of the precise current control of the supply, a new control strategy is proposed based on the prediction of the peaks of the output current. First, the mathematical model is built for the system composed of the capacitive Pulse power supply and the rail-type electromagnetic launcher. Then the time sequential control strategy is proposed. And the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by simulation. Based on the proposed strategy, the local peaks of the output current and the peaks of the acceleration can be precisely controlled as required, which is essential for the design of the guided projectile.
