Thermal Analysis of Cylindrical Linear Generator with Permanent Magnet taking account of Losses

A lightweight linear generator for hybrid electric vehicle in a broad variety of energy converters may be a good solution to the problems of energy crisis and environmental pollution today. Especially, thermal analysis is very important in generator application to evaluate the effect of temperature in the system. To improve efficiency of the generator, it is necessary to carefully investigate the thermal characteristic in order to determine the best cooling solutions. The results of the study will give elaborate information about analysis rules and performance data in respect of heat distribution of each region in cylindrical linear generator.
