Monitoring and Protection System Design for High Temperature SMES

Due to the complicated structure and control difficulties of the HTS-SMES equipment, it is necessary to design a real-time monitoring system which has perfect function, friendly interface and simple operation, so as to realize monitoring various electrical and non-electrical quantity. This paper mainly designed the monitoring interface and communication program based on LabVIEW. Among them, the monitoring system includes data acquisition, waveform display, control strategy and data storage. Finally, a set of HTS-SMES monitoring systems and equipment were developed and functional tests were carried out, the results show that the monitoring system can effectively detect the data of each channel, monitor and control two SMES device, implement multi-target control strategy, also meet the predetermined system functions.
