EOG-based interface and speech recognition for wheelchair control

Mobility problems are a growing international medical concern. We developed a prototype to help patients with paralysis of the lower extremities to control a wheelchair using Electrooculography (EOG) signals and the voice signal. EOG signal can control the direction of movement, while the voice signal processing controls the on and off the wheelchair. The prototype is a scalable, portable, compact and inexpensive with acceptable results with a noninvasive design.
