Fall recognition system: a review

The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that between 28% and 35% of the population over 65 falls each year and the number increases as people get older. In order to improve the quality of life of older adults, the recognition of falls continues to be an area of active research. In this paper, we present a review of several systems for detecting the fall, including the sensors used to collect information in order to detect the fall, methods, datasets and results. Finally we present a discussion on possible future directions and challenges.
