Design of Ultra-Wideband Antenna Array for Mobile Terminals

A compact directional ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna which adopts multidirectional pattern diversity configuration is described in this paper. A single Omni directional UWB Antenna is converted into a directional antenna by placing an L-shaped reflector in the ground plane. Four such directional antennas are arranged in such a way that cross-configuration structure is constructed to achieve multidirectional pattern diversity characteristics.
