Emulating pump system static head using PID-controlled flow-regulating valve

Empirical verification of novel energy efficient control methods and soft sensors for variable-speed-driven pump systems often requires the presence of system static head, which is not readily available in all test setups. This paper proposes a method for emulating the static head of a pump system with a flow-regulating valve.
