Dynamic Computer Model of Traction Asynchronous Motor

The article presents a dynamic computer model of the asynchronous electric motor for a shunting locomotive of industrial enterprises. The relevance of the work lies in the possibility of using a computer model in the development and research into the frequency changer-asynchronous motor system for electric drive of an electric locomotive. The objective of the article is to develop, using well-known methods, a reliable dynamic computer model of a three-phase traction asynchronous motor with a squirrel-cage rotor, which makes it possible to study the operation of the electric drive according to the “frequency changer-asynchronous motor” system taking into account the operating characteristics of the shunting locomotive. Methods used: mathematical statistics to assessment the reliability of the model, the basic principles of the theory of electric machines and electric drives, methods of mathematical modeling in the Matlab Simulink development environment. Novelty: the developed computer model of the electric drive is built on specific parameters of the traction electric motor, has high reliability, allows for the calculation of transients in the “frequency changer-asynchronous motor” system, taking into account the peculiarities of the locomotive. The article develops a block diagram of a mathematical model of an induction motor, taking into account the displacement of the rotor current as a slip function, the block diagram can be applied to other squirrel-cage induction motors. Based on the initial mathematical model, the authors develop computer models to study transient processes of starting the engine from the mains, load shedding, starting the engine in the “frequency changer-asynchronous motor” system from the intensity adjuster with scalar regulation, starting the inertial system of the locomotive and cars taking into account the choice of gaps.
