Experimental Validation of Five-Level Cascaded Flying-Capacitor Converter for Machine-side Operation

This paper presents experimental results of a test bench, which consists of a five-level Cascaded Flying-Capacitor converter in combination with a 2.2kW induction machine. First, a comparison with a conventional Active-Neutral-Point-Clamped converter is made. Special properties of the proposed five-level converter are shown. Afterwards, the first measurement results are presented.
