Parameter Optimization Based on the Minimum Peak Current Curve for LCC Resonant Converters Operating in DCM

In order to improve the efficiency of LCC resonant converters operating in discontinuous current mode (DCM), an optimal parameter design is proposed. By using the derived model and the proposed formula for the parameter design of the resonant elements, the power loss can be substantially reduced with the minimized operating current of the resonant converter. First, the time-domain mathematical model of LCC resonant converters is obtained. Then, based on the mathematical models, the circuit characteristics of LCC resonant converters are analyzed, and the computation expressions of the circuit parameters are deduced. An optimization scheme with the minimum peak current curve is proposed, and the voltage regulation curve of LCC resonant converters is drawn. Finally, the simulation and experimental results are given to verify the accuracy of the model and the formula.
