An Attempt to Evaluate Potential Hydrogen in Soil Using AM Radio Waves for Agricultural Applications

The pH is one of the most important factor in agricultural field. In this paper, the condition of pH in agricultural soil was evaluated by receiving the AM radio wave on plantation. First, the complex dielectric constants were measured as a function of pH of culture soil. Next two phases of the received AM radio waves on the edges of plantation were calculated with extrapolated-dielectric constants of the agricultural soil, and were measured by the loop antenna set on the agricultural soil when the soil pH was changed as the same as the calculation. The measured phase difference was compared with the calculated one. In the consequence, it was obvious that their trends were similar to each other.
