MISDataset: Management Information Systems Dataset for Predicting Undergraduate Students' Performance

A new dataset is proposed to be used for predicting the performance of undergraduate students from Management Information Systems (MIS) department in the college of business. The dataset is especially for predicting the performance of MIS students in a university in Jordan. In this paper, the description of dataset and comparison with other two baseline datasets are discussed. The results indicated that R Square (R2) value of 88.5% for MISDataset in comparison with Dataset 1 of 69.1% and Dataset 2 of 19.3%. In addition, the results show the effective and efficiency of the proposed dataset from correlation and attribute distribution perspective. In future work, the MISDataset will be used to do further analysis such as classification or clustering techniques in order to help decision makers in educational institutions for improving students' performance.
