Determination of Noise Components in Laser Correlation Spectroscopic Devices for Signal-to-Noise Ratio Estimation

Laser correlation spectroscopy is a powerful method of estimating the size of nanoparticles. It was shown that uncertainty of size determination is strongly influenced by signal-to-noise ratio, achieved in the designed scheme. In this work, we consider signal-to-noise ratio for one realization of laser correlation spectrometer and review noise parameters of main elements of laser correlation spectrometer. Presented principles could be used for signal-to-noise ratio calculation for other types of dynamic light scattering devices.
