Modeling and simulation of electromagnetic shielding for IoT sensor nodes case

IoT is becoming more and more present in our everyday activities, from mobile phones, to smart homes, drones and even autonomous cars. All of these applications are based on the information received by the sensors. All IoT architectures include a smart sensor nodes case in which the data is processed. After designing and producing smart sensor nodes case, they must be compliant, from the point of view of electromagnetic emissions, with the electromagnetic compatibility standards and regulations. To demonstrate electromagnetic compliance, usually manufactures send their equipment to a laboratory. This process became costly if the product doesn’t meet the requirements and the manufactures must redesign the entire system. Using numerical methods for calculating shielding effectiveness we can verify the model results. The computational results are compared with the standards and show that ANSYS can be used efficiently to solve the shielding effectiveness problem of the IoT sensor nodes case.
