Linguistic Variable Concept Development in the Context of Computing with Words and Perceptions

The problems of emergence and application of a rich class of events and systems of mostly linguistic nature in theory and practice of computer-aided engineering are considered. In this context, the various abstraction levels of the nature-like object are involved. The computational perception tools are characterized within a cybernetic epistemology. Special attention is paid to one of the promising directions of information technology development - transformation of formal methods into relevant formal technologies, which allows accumulation of engineering knowledge and experience in form of active information resources according to the “NET – WEB – GRAPH” concept.
