Development of Automated Weather Observing System Based on Realtime Web Display

Automated Weather Observing System is an instrument that has an important role in aviation transportation safety. Agency of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics currently operates the Automated Weather Observing System at several airports in Indonesia. The installed system is entirely imported system which has limitations in customization according to the characteristics of airports in Indonesia. The solution to overcome this problem is to design an Automated Weather Observing System that is easily designed and can be customized from various aspects of the system. The Agency through the Center for Instrumentation, Calibration and Engineering has designed the Automated Weather Observing System which can be configured for the number of sensors and data communication. The developed system has been successfully designed. After the stage of designing, calibrating and implementing the system, observation data can be sent to the Data Processing Center computer parallel with real-time data to a web display. Users can access meteorological data in real-time using an internet-connected browser with a scanning rate 1 minute.
