Climate Data Records for Atmospheric Motion Vectors for C3S

Within the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) [1], EUMETSAT has generated Climate Data Records (CDRs) for Atmospheric Motion Vectors (AMVs). CDRs for several EUMETSAT geostationary [2] and polar orbiting satellites [3] have been produced. AMVs are an important source of wind information for global NWP re-analysis as well as a possible indicator for climate change as they indicate changes in the position and strength of the jet stream.
