Living Lab for Electric Mobility in the Public Transportation System of the University of Campinas

The transition towards a sustainable electrified transportation model is becoming a promising reality. Economic, as well as environmental aspects, are speeding up this process. The concept of electric mobility rises up due to socio-environmental, technical and economic problems inherent to the use of vehicle moved by fossil fuels. This paper presents the development of a Living Lab for electric mobility in the public transportation system of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) considering the integration of a sustainable electric station, wide monitoring, and real-time connectivity to investigate technical, economic, and environmental impacts of the massive insertion of electric buses in urban transport fleets. The data gathered from the wide monitoring will be used as a basis for proposing solutions for users as well as for public and particular managers of transportation infrastructure.
