DC-DC Hybrid Switched-Capacitor LLC Resonant Converter: All Switches With VDS = Vin/2

A novel isolated DC-DC Hybrid Switched-Capacitor LLC Resonant Converter is proposed in this paper, which is the result of the integration of a switched capacitor ladder cell with the LLC resonant converter operating at high frequency. The topologies feature reduced voltage stress across all the switches to one half of the input voltage, and soft switching for all the switches and diodes of the converter. Theoretical analysis as well as experimental results are presented on a prototype that was constructed and tested in laboratory for 1000 Vdc input, 48 Vdc output, and 90 kHz switching frequency, where the measured maximum efficiency reached 97.27%. The proposed converter is suitable for applications that require high input voltage, galvanic isolation and accuracy in output voltage without the need of control.
