Low-Profile, Vehicle Roof-Top Mounted Broadband Antenna for V2X

In this paper, we propose a monocone roof-top broadband antenna for V2X (Vehicle to Everything) wireless communication. The proposed antenna consists of four elements - monocone, ground ring, center post, and parasitic disk. The antenna performance is characterized with respect to reflection coefficient and radiation pattern. The simulated and measured data indicate that the proposed antenna can support 0.7 GHz to 6 GHz. Radiation patterns show omnidirectional and high-gain characteristics on the horizontal plane. The simulated magnitude of reflection coefficient is similar to that of the measured data.
