Steady-State Performance Analysis of Direct-On-Line Cylindrical Wound-Rotor Synchronous Motor

A steady-state performance analysis iterative process of a direct-on-line cylindrical wound-rotor synchronous motor is presented in this paper. The analysis uses circuit and finite element methods in solving the currents of a grid voltage-fed synchronous motor. In the fast and simple iterative process, the motor parameters are accurately predicted for different operating points of the motor. The iterative process is successfully tested and can be utilised among other direct-on-line performance prediction methods, essentially in performance enhancement using optimising algorithms.
